Privacy Policy for QuitMate
Effective date: 1 August 2026
QuitMate is operated by GC Consulting. This Privacy Policy explains how QuitMate collects, uses, stores, and protects user information.
Information We Collect
QuitMate may collect:
- Name, mobile number with country code, and optional email address for account creation, login, account support, communication, and password reset where email is provided.
- Recovery profile information such as quit date, tobacco type, daily spend, triggers, support preferences, stress level, and motivation.
- Craving logs, relapse logs, notes, recovery progress, and usage activity inside the app.
- AI coach chat messages when you use the AI coach feature.
- A voice note you voluntarily record for an accountability alert, together with your chosen support person's name and email address. The recording is sent as an email attachment and is not stored in QuitMate's database.
- Anonymous community posts, replies, likes, and reactions.
- Basic technical and app-activity information, including a randomly generated app-install identifier, platform, app version, first-open time, and last-active time. We use this to measure first opens and active usage. The identifier is not your Android advertising ID or a hardware identifier.
How We Use Information
We use this information to:
- Create and manage user accounts.
- Track quit progress, cravings, relapses, savings, and recovery statistics.
- Provide AI-powered recovery support.
- Deliver a user-requested voice alert to a chosen support person.
- Send email verification and password reset messages.
- Enable anonymous community support features.
- Improve app reliability, security, and user experience.
- Measure app first opens, registrations, and active usage for internal product analytics.
AI Coach
When you use the AI coach, your messages may be processed by third-party AI service providers to generate responses. Do not share emergency, medical, or highly sensitive personal information in the AI chat. QuitMate is a wellness support tool and does not provide medical diagnosis, emergency care, or professional medical advice.
Voice Alerts
Accountability voice recordings are attached to a single email requested by the user and are not saved in QuitMate's database. The email provider and the chosen recipient may retain the delivered email and attachment according to their own settings and policies.
Community Content
QuitMate includes anonymous community features where users can share quitting experiences. Users should not post personal contact details, abusive content, or harmful content. Community posts may be stored and displayed to other app users.
Data Sharing
We do not sell personal information. We may share limited data with trusted service providers only when needed to operate QuitMate, such as hosting, database storage, email delivery, analytics, and AI response generation. These providers process data only for app functionality.
Data Security
We use reasonable security measures to protect user data. Data is transmitted over secure HTTPS connections. Passwords are stored securely and are not stored in plain text.
Data Retention and Deletion
We keep account and recovery data while the user account is active. Users may request deletion of their account and associated data using https://www.myquitmate.com/delete-account. After a deletion request, we will delete or anonymize associated account data unless retention is required for legal, security, or operational reasons.
Children
QuitMate is intended for users aged 18 and above. The app is not designed for children.
